Most of the time when you head to the State Fair of Texas, the biggest problem you may face is the price of a turkey leg or the heat getting to you as you walk the fair grounds. But one teenager in the Dallas-Fort Worth discovered something that no one should be worried about. Being run over by a police horse.

According to KRLD in Dallas, the 17-year-old and his family were at the Texas State Fair, standing next to Big Tex when one of the mounted patrol officers was thrown off his horse and the ran through the crowd, trampling the teenager.

If you've ever been to the State Fair of Texas, you know just how crowded of an area it is next to Big Tex.

The incident occurred two-weeks ago and the teenager is recovering but is still in the hospital recovering from reportedly a traumatic brain injury. KRLD reports the teenager had a seizure as a result of the injury.

The report also states that the family has filed a lawsuit against the City of Dallas, the Dallas Police, and the State Fair.

So far, none of those named in the lawsuit have responded to the story. The report also did not say if anyone one else was injured.
