Texas Tech women’s volleyball will face off against the Kansas Jayhawks this weekend.

The two teams will have their 32nd match together Saturday at 6:30 p.m. as the Red Raiders go to Lawrence, Kansas.

Tech has won 16 of their matches against the Jayhawks, compared to Kansas’ 15 wins against Tech. The Jayhawks have defeated Tech in 7 of their last 8 matches, with the Red Raiders breaking a 64-game conference losing streak by beating Kansas 3 -2 in October 2010.

Tech is only three wins short of having their first winning season since 2001, with 9 conference matches and one non-conference game remaining.

Player Amanda Dowdy has moved to second all-time in career kills for Texas Tech, finishing this week’s game against Texas A&M with 22 kills in the match, with a 1,350 career total so far. Kelly Johnson holds the school’s records with 1,925 career kills between 2001 and 2004.
