Texas Tech sure has been busy after making it to the championship rounds of last softball season. A total of six new transfers have been added to the Red Raiders' impressive lineup.

Let's say hello to the new kids in town and wish them all a warm Lubbock welcome!

Outfield Reinforcements for Texas Tech

Texas Tech is bolstering their defense in the outfield for next season, starting with Zoie Bernard, a transfer from Michigan State.

Zoie Bernard

Zoie is entering her sophomore year and brings to the plate (pun intended) a leading batting average of .307 during her freshman year along with eight stolen bases and 13 doubles.

The young athlete also reminded Texas Tech coach Gerry Glasco of Mihyia Davis, and he's eager to see her develop in the coming years.

Kasidi Pickering

Returning to her home state of Texas, senior outfielder Kasidi Pickering boasts a whopping .384 batting average during her three years at Oklahoma, along with 50 home runs and 169 RBIs in 189 total games played.

She also led the Sooners to win the 2024 National Championship as a freshman. So, let's see if some of her talent can rub off on Tech and bring them to their third World Series in a row!

Moriah Polar

Moriah Polar is Texas Tech's answer to consistent hitting as her batting average last year was .555—one of the nation's best. The soon-to-be senior set Purdue's single-season record for hits, runs, batting average, and on-base percentage this past season.

With a career batting average of .436 and totaling 218 hits, 137 runs, and 103 RBIs, Polar is definitely going to bring the heat to Red Raider softball this next season.

Texas Tech Bolstering Infield Prowess

Now that star pitcher NiJaree Canady is moving on from college softball, Texas Tech is looking to keep the power at the mound for next season, starting with left-handed pitcher Hailey Maestretti.

Hailey Maestretti

Maestretti enters her junior year after spending two seasons at Utah with a 2.53 ERA during her sophomore year. She also threw 14 complete games and six shutouts.

Coach Gerry Glasco says he's excited about Maestretti's control of the softball and ability to change speeds when needed—something that is very difficult for any pitcher.

Bradi Gallaway

Infielder Bradi Gallaway joins Texas Tech for her sophomore season after spending the last year at Louisiana Tech. After starting in all 56 games last season, she was second on the team in home runs at 11 along with 47 RBIs and 98 total bases.

Combining brains and brawn, not only is Gallaway a power hitter at bat, she also dominated the classroom by being named CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll, among others.

Jayden Heavener

Finally, left-handed pitcher Jayden Heavener brings one of the strongest arms in the sport to Lubbock after spending time with LSU.

With an ERA of 2.78 and 26 wins throughout her college career, Heavener recorded 280 strikeouts putting her in the NFCA All-Gulf First Team last year.

"We look forward to trying to help her find herself and her true potential over the next three years," coach Gerry Glasco said.

You can read more about these and any future transfers from the Texas Tech Athletics website.

This is a fantastic lineup already that Texas Tech has recruited thus far. This team is definitely one to keep an eye on for the next season to see how far they fly.
