Next week, #3 Texas Tech Baseball is holding a virtual fan event before the start of their season.

The 2021 Red Raider Baseball Virtual First Pitch Event will be held Tuesday, February 16 at 7pm. Texas Tech head coach Tim Tadlock, along with current players Micah Dallas, Braxton Fulford and Cole Stilwell will participate in the event. Also slated to be a part of Tuesday night's event, former Texas Tech Baseball player Brian Klein.

Tuesday night's event will be live streamed on the Texas Tech Athletics Facebook and Twitter social media accounts, plus streaming online through Big XII Now on ESPN+. There will also be an online auction benefiting the Red Raider Club Excellence Fund.

Tadlock, is about to start his ninth season as head coach for Texas Tech. During his tenure, Tadlock has built the Red Raiders into a national powerhouse, leading the team to four College World Series over the past seven seasons and winning Big 12 Championships in 2016, 2017 and 2019.

Dallas, still listed as a sophomore due to the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, is entering his third season with the Red Raiders. In 2020, Dallas pitched in five relief appearances. He finished the season with an 0.57 ERA in 15.2 innings pitched with one walk and 23 strikeouts.

Fulford, a Lubbock native, who is still listed as a junior due to the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, is Texas Tech's starting catcher. In 2020, Fulford played in 15 games, starting 12. He hit .227 with two doubles and 11 RBI.

Stilwell, still listed as a sophomore due to the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, is one of the Red Raiders most prolific hitters. Last season, in 17 games he hit .345 with six doubles, two home runs, 18 RBI, 14 walks and 15 runs scored. In the shortened 2020 season he finished with an OPS of 1.064 and an OBP of .500.

Klein, a former Red Raider infielder, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Washington Nationals last year after an abbreviated Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Klein is currently assigned to the Nationals Gulf Coast Rookie League team in West Palm Beach for 2021.

#3 Texas Tech will open the 2021 season with three Top-10 match-ups, as ranked by D1Baseball.com. The 2021 State Farm College baseball Showdown will be held at Globe Life Field, the home of the Texas Rangers. Texas Tech's season opener will be Friday, February 19, 7pm vs. #8 Arkansas. Then, the Red Raiders will play against #6 Ole Miss Saturday, February 20 at 3pm, and Texas Tech's final game of the weekend is Sunday, February 21 against #7 Mississippi State at 11am.
