A Texas Tech baseball player has received yet another award.

Red Raider junior center fielder Barrett Barnes has been named to the preseason third team All-America by Perfect Game.

Barnes, considered by many as one of the top outfielders in the nation, was named All-Big 12 first team last season, batting .290 with 10 home runs and 38 RBI. He also had 19 of 21 stolen bases and was tied for third in home-runs within the conference.

The Sugarland native has also been named as a preseason All-American by College Sports Madness, in addition to being named the No. 8 collegiate outfielder in the country by Perfect Game as well.

Barnes is one of three Big 12 position players named to one of the preseason All-America teams.

This season will be Barnes’ third year playing for Texas Tech.
