A man in Fort Worth, Texas, was arrested and charged with the murder of his mother after police found him covered in her blood and holding a bible. He claimed he conducted an exorcism on her.

Witchcraft for Murder in Texas

Fort Worth police were called to the home of 23-year-old Alexander Taylor Valdez at 1:30 in the morning on April 18. When they arrived, Valdez met them at the door. His face, neck, torso, and hands were covered in blood, and he was holding a bible.

When asked by officers, Valdez informed them that he was conducting an exorcism and the blood was due to attempted witchcraft.

I was doing witchcraft to kill my mom. There is a dead body in there. It's my mom.

As police entered the home, what they saw was straight out of a horror film. Valdez's mom, 58-year-old Teresita Sayson, lay dead in the master bedroom. Her dog's lifeless body lay next to her.

Sayson's upper body was covered in blood with visible trauma to her torso and face. It's alleged that Valdez used a heavy object to bludgeon her to death, along with her dog.

After the murder, Valdez took a picture of his mother and the dog and shared it with some friends on the social media platform, Snapchat.

One friend, shocked by what they saw, called 911 and gave police Valdez's address.

Officers also found a jewelry box covered in blood and human hair, which may have been what Valdez used to commit the murder.

Alexander Valdez was booked into the Tarrant County Lon Evans Corrections Center to await a trial, and he is currently jailed on a $750,000 bond for alleged murder.
