
12 Hospitalized in Texas After School Bus Carrying Elementary School Students Rolls Over In Accident
It was not how students, parents, or school administrators wanted to start the school year.
A school bus in Texas was involved in an accident on Wednesday that sent 12 to the hospital. This was also the first day of school for students in the school district where the accident happened.
School Bus Carrying 42 Elementary School Students Rolls Over in Accident
According to Newsweek, 42 elementary school students were on the bus that rolled over. Wednesday was the first day of school for students in the Leander Independent School District. The wreck happened about five miles from Bagdad Elementary School and according to Newsweek the school bus "veered off a curve" before overturning.

It is not yet known what caused the school bus to veer off the road or roll over. An investigation will look deeper into those questions.
Texas School Bus Injuries
While 12 people were injured, it appears as though none of the injuries were life threatening. 11 children and one adult were treated at area hospitals. Two children sustained serious injuries according to the first update from the Austin-Travis County EMS.
Newsweek reports that the accident happened in the 22000 block of Nameless Road near Palamino Ranch Drive and Honeycomb Lane.
All students are required to wear seatbelts in school buses and drivers receive training and refresher courses.
Two Texas School Buses Were Involved in Rollover Accidents Wednesday
According to Newsweek, there was another school bus rollover in Cleveland ISD on Wednesday morning. All 58 students on the bus were safey evacuated and no major injuries were reported.
