Texas Roadhouse Considering A Price Hike

Texas Roadhouse is one of the most popular steakhouses in Texas and in Lubbock it's hard to find a weekend where there isn't a wait. But due to rising cost, including the rising cost of beef, the popular chain is considering a price hike in October.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the chain raised menu prices by 2.2% back in April due to labor costs that are on the increase and the costs of meat. The Houston Chronicle reported that during a recent earnings call, an additional price hike to the menu was discussed. If they go through with it, the price increase would reportedly happen in October.
The reason for the possible increase? You guessed it. The price of beef continues to rise as do labor costs
So how will customers react to a price hike? If history is any guide, the customers will continue to enjoy good steaks and filling up on fantastic rolls. According to the Houston Chronicle, Texas Roadhouse has raised prices before.
As to how customers will react, the chain had raised prices both in 2021 (4.2 percent) and 2022 (3.2 percent) while opening additional franchise locations around the U.S. In response to the 2022 price raise, executives noted that customer reactions were minimal.
A small price hike won't keep me away from Texas Roadhouse. I'll still enjoy getting a nice ribeye and of course the hot rolls.
Texas Roadhouse has 620 locations across the United States with 70 locations in Texas. The largest Texas Roadhouse location? Right here in Lubbock, Texas.
