On the Tuesday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Malachi Boyuls, Republican candidate for Texas Railroad Commissioner, talked with Chad Hasty about his campaign and why he entered the race.

Boylus said that, as a small business owner in the oil and gas industry, he has the industry experience that's needed to succeed in this office. He explained that oil and gas are a big part of what's driving the state's economy and that it is important that those industries continue to remain strong.

"The oil and gas industry is really driving a lot of what we're doing in Texas economically, and can really play a big role in what we can do nationally. In Texas, we're doing a pretty good job. And for the future of Texas...for continued economic opportunities, for better national security and for better foreign policy decisions, Texas energy has got to do well."

Boylus went on to say that the Obama administration seems to be strongly opposed to these industries, as proven when they tried to use the Lesser Prairie Chicken as an excuse to hold up the oil and gas industry in Texas. He added that the administration has a severe lack of understanding in wanting to create a "one size fits all" regulation for the entire country concerning oil and gas. Boyuls pointed out that Texas has been able to produce energy while protecting the citizens and the environment, all without extensive government regulation.
