A Texas man has been added to the 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders List, and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that can lead to his arrest.

65-year-old San Antonio native John Lynch Goodwin has been wanted since March 2025 out of Bexar County for his failure to register as a sex offender with the state.

Goodwin also had a previous warrant for his arrest out of Edinburg, TX, for illegal possession of synthetic marijuana, Texas DPS states.

Goodwin stands at 5 feet 7 inches with a weight of roughly 165 pounds. He also has tattoos on his face, cheek, back, arms, left finger, and right thigh.

Goodwin's Criminal History

John Goodwin was convicted of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child in 1988 that involved a six-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl.

Goodwin received a 20-year prison sentence as a result, and in 2020, he failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements. Because of this, he was sentenced to another five years behind bars.

Goodwin was discharged in April 2024, but once again failed to register as a sex offender in March 2025, prompting Texas DPS to add him to the most wanted list.
