The Texas Department of Public Safety has announced the capture of a known gang member who has been on the run since October 2025 for aggravated robbery. His history also includes sex crimes against two separate teenage girls.

The Bloods Gang Member Was Considered Armed and Dangerous

On March 26, 27-year-old Justin Ramon Statum, a documented Bloods gang member, was captured at a motel in Houston. His arrest was thanks to an anonymous tip to law enforcement through Texas Crime Stoppers.

Statum's criminal history started back in 2021 when he was convicted of child sex trafficking, compelling two teenage girls aged 14 and 16 to engage in sexual conduct.

As a result, Statum was sentenced to six years in prison before being discharged early in January 2025. Following his release, he was required to register as a sex offender every year for life.

In October 2025, a warrant was issued out of Harris County for his arrest following an aggravated robbery with a handgun.

Because Statum's arrest was the direct result of a Crime Stoppers tip, the reward of up to $5,000 will be paid to the anonymous tipster.
