Thursday on the Chad Hasty Show, David Watts discussed his campaign for the position of Texas Land Commissioner.

Watts will be hosting a meet and greet at the Science Spectrum on November 15 at 7:00 p.m. He will spend time explaining issues and what he will do as Texas Land Commissioner. He will also have a Q and A session there.

After realizing there would only be one Republican candidate, George P. Bush, Watts decided he had to run for the office as a candidate who would be more conservative. He continued, "We need an authentic conservative alternative." He felt having this alternative is important to push certain issues and corrections as Land Commissioner, who overseas the General Land Agency. He hopes to keep such agencies to their constitutional matters.

Watts plans to focus on how illegal immigration has affected funding of education. He would also like to work to preserve the role of history in various places. He hopes to focus on these issues through persuasion and education in the office.
