Heads Up, Texas Drivers: Increased Police Presence Hitting the Streets for the Holidays
It may come as no surprise, but with so many people planning on hitting the road in Texas this holiday season, you can bet your bottom mistletoe that you'll see more cops in hiding, waiting to find easy prey.
Increased Cop Presence in Texas... Keep Your Eyes Peeled!
Okay, all jokes aside, cops WILL be out in full force starting Friday, December 19 through Thursday, January 1, according to the latest news from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
As important as it is to remain vigilant and avoid falling into speed traps when traveling on Texas roads, it's even more important to, you know, actually follow the law and drive safely.

Our Troopers will be out on the roads to ensure everyone is driving responsibly and following the law. Our goal is simple—to keep every Texan safe so they can enjoy the season with their loved ones.
2024 Holiday Season Citation Statistics
Each year, Texas DPS strengthens their efforts in combatting deadly car accidents. Just look at the fact that, during the 2024 holiday season, there were a total of 9,183 citations issued for speeding, 3,382 for driving without insurance, 485 for seat belt and child seat violations, 398 felony arrests and 250 DWI arrests.

Getting behind the wheel while drunk, high, or even tipsy drastically raises the risk of putting your life or another's life in mortal danger.
Also, Santa told me himself that anyone who drives while under the influence is automatically put on the naughty list.
