A 17-year-old high school girl in Texas is facing felony charges after being accused of killing her classmate's goat.
The 17-year-old cheerleader from Cedar Park was a student at Vista Ridge High School according to CBS Austin. She faces felony charges after allegedly killing a classmates goat in what the New York Post called an "ugly display of jealousy".
According to CBS Austin, Aubrey Vanlandingham confessed to police that she poisoned the goat named, Willie, back in October using a drench gun and a toxic pesticide. According to CBS Austin, the goat died about 21 hours later after experiencing convulsions and respiratory distress.
Vanlandingham apparently confessed to police that she poisoned the goat because she believed the owner's daughter was a "cheater". She also admitted to attempting to kill the goat previously. According to CBS Austin, the investigation revealed her search history on her phone.
The investigation revealed search history on the suspect's phone including queries about lethal doses of bleach for animals and methods of poisoning pets. She then allegedly searched, "How to clear search history."
The suspect was arrested in November and charged with cruelty to livestock animals, which in Texas is a state jail felony. She was released from jail on bond.
According to the New York Post, the suspect was seen on security footage inside the school's barn forcing the six month old goat to drink the pesticide. According to the New York Post the goat died in the owner's arms after going into convulsions.
