Texas Department of Public Safety employees were honored last week at an annual event.

DPS received the honors last Thursday at the annual Lubbock Crime Victim Coalition ceremony.

Three DPS employees received awards for their support of crime victims.

Texas Ranger Tony Arnold received an award for his assistance in solving a 2005 homicide last year, which resulted in the defendant receiving a life sentence.

Texas Ranger Stuart Willer received an award for numerous arrests in 2013, resulting in 258 years of confinement and two life sentences.

Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Corey Cornell received an award for his diligence in the detection and apprehension of intoxicated motorists last year.

Overall, there were 31 recipients from various organizations that received awards at the event.
