In the most recent shocking seizure along the Texas-Mexico border, nearly $4 million of alleged cocaine was discovered during two separate encounters.

Hidalgo Cocaine Seizure

The first massive seizure took place at the Hidalgo Port of Entry on July 26. This was where border agents sent a suspicious-looking 2020 Renault Oroch to secondary inspection.

Along with the non-intrusive imaging system, a canine inspection was conducted. Through the use of both methods, numerous anomalies were identified in the vehicle, sparking concern from officers.

After a closer look, CBP officers discovered a total of 30 wrapped packages filled with white powder they believe is cocaine. There was a combined weight of 76.94 pounds among the 30 packages.

The estimated street value of the alleged narcotics came out to $1,027,316, and the vehicle was seized by CBP before a criminal investigation was initiated by Homeland Security.

Roma White Powder Seizure

The second cocaine seizure was over twice the size of the first. This happened on July 28 in Roma, TX, where over $2.8 million of alleged cocaine was seized in a single action.

Roma Port of Entry Port Director Andres Guerra voiced his pride in the entire CBP team as they stopped this massive shipment of drugs from entering the U.S.:

This substantial seizure of cocaine stands as a testament to the dedication and effectiveness of our officers in disrupting illegal smuggling and securing the border.

Border officers noticed a suspicious-looking semi-truck hauling soft drinks attempting to gain entry into the country. They deployed a canine unit to sniff out any illegal goods, and once the narcotics were found, an alert was made.

73 packages of alleged cocaine were found stashed in back of the semi-truck totaling just over 212 pounds. The estimated street value of this haul was $2,834,686.

Drug seizures like the ones described above are just some of the ways America is that much safer and drug-free from international smugglers.
