Dr. Tedd Mitchell To Retire As Chancellor after 15 Years at Texas Tech
Dr. Tedd Mitchell was named the fifth Chancellor of the Texas Tech University System on October 25, 2018. He has been part of the Texas Tech University System for 15 years and in a letter posted online Mitchell said he believes it is time to pass the leadership baton forward
As I’ve said before, those of us who serve as leaders are only carrying a baton for the moment. Between my roles as President and Chancellor, I have served far longer in system leadership than any of my predecessors, and while carrying this baton has been a true privilege and joy, I feel it is now my time to prepare to pass the baton to someone new.
In August the Texas Tech Board of Regents will meet and Chancellor Mitchell plans to discuss his decision to retire and lay out more details.
