Tate Corliss of Raider Red Meats Talks About 6th Win In National Meat Science Quiz Bowl [AUDIO]
Texas Tech has again drawn public attention for winning first place in a National Meat Science event. Today on Lubbock's First News, leader of the team Tate Corliss called into our studio to give some details on the competition.
Director of Raider Red Meats Tate Corliss has lead his program to win the National Meat Science Quiz Bowl for the 6th time in history. Corliss described this as being "kind of like a gameshow, if you will, where they answer different meat science questions." The competition was made up of 27 different teams from 19 Universities. Texas Tech had teams take both 1st and 3rd in the Meat Science Quiz Bowl. They will be competing again this coming September.
Aside from competing in meat science events, Raider Red Meats also sells various meat products. The Raider Red Meats building is found on Indiana across from the United Supermarket Arena. All of the steaks at Raider Red Meats are hand selected, hand cut, and aged for a minimum of 30 days. There are currently sales on all steaks, and Corliss even said that Raider Red Meats has "the cheapest ground beef in Lubbock," as well as other meat products like jalapeno sausage and beef jerky.
Make sure not to miss out on the great Fourth of July sales going on at Raider Red Meats. To view their selection of meat products, visit the Raider Red Meats website.
