At a meeting held on Thursday, September 10th, the Lubbock Independent School District Board of Trustees set the district's tax rate for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
"I think what we approved and what will come back before us maintains a good balance of respecting the history of our downtown, but at the same time being able to provide streets that are drivable and that are going to be cost effective to maintain in the future," Massengale said.
Griffith was asked if the city council, in any way, would have any sort of lowering of the funding for the police department, to which he strongly stated, "Absolutely not. Not even a question...It's not even a topic in my opinion."
