Friday on Lubbock's First News with Tom Collins and Laura Mac, Kristian Bush of the country duo Sugarland, joined the show by phone from Nashville to talk about his new partnership with Goodwill Industries International.

Bush and Goodwill are teaming up to raise awareness of Goodwill’s mission in helping people. Bush is using his song "Trailer Hitch" in the partnership theme, with the slogan 'Give It Away.'

"Trailer Hitch" reminds people that they can't take what they have when they pass on, so give those things to people who can use them.

"I asked the question, 'why do we have so much stuff in our lives?' You know we just keep collecting it, and Goodwill provides the answer," said Bush.

You can find out more details about the joint effort here. Listen to the entire interview with Kristian Bush in the video above.
