A local cable service provider has added more jobs to the Lubbock area over the past year.

Suddenlink Communications has added 40 new jobs in Lubbock through the end of November. In Lubbock, over 500 people now work for Suddenlink, bringing their employment to around 2,900 employees in Texas, and almost 5,900 across the nation.

A majority of the 40 new positions created in 2011 provide support to Suddenlink customers. The company reports that they will have $120 million invested into cable systems in Texas in 2011, and nearly $500 million invested total in the state since 2006.

“Our company continues to grow, and the vast majority of our new jobs involve people who interact directly with customers,” said Suddenlink Senior Vice President of Regional Operations Dave Gilles.

Suddenlink offers cable TV, high-speed internet, phone, and security services.
