A Lubbock man was shot and injured in a drive-by shooting back on Tuesday, January 25th, and a suspect as yet to be located.

It happened a bit after 5 p.m. in the 5400 block of 45th Street.

The victim, who wasn't publicly identified, said that he was walking home after playing basketball when he say the suspect's car. The back passenger window apparently rolled down, and then 2 shots rang out. The victim tried to run, but that's when he realized he had been shot in the leg.

The victim's mother said she had received a text from him saying that he was going out, but she didn't hear from him after that.

A passerby on the scene confirmed with officers that they saw the victim walking before falling to the ground. She said that she was driving to get gas when she saw this happen. However, she told police that she didn't hear any gunshots.

KAMC News reports that officers arrived at the scene and provided first aid to the victim before he was transported to a local hospital. He was initially reported to have been suffering from moderate injuries.

As of Monday, January 31st, a suspect had yet to be located. It's unknown if the victim knew who the suspects were, or if police have an idea as to their identities.
