Stickland: Speaker Bonnen Recording Shatters Trust In Texas House [INTERVIEW]
On Thursday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show Representative Jonathan Stickland (R-District 92) joined the broadcast to discuss the exploding controversy over the June 12th meeting between Texas Speaker of the House Dennis Bonnen, District 83 Representative Dustin Burrows, and Michael Quinn Sullivan from Empower Texans.
Stickland has review the recording made by Sullivan, and shared his opinion of it's contents with Hasty. Stickland said,
This audiotape shows that you've got a blatant case of politicians saying one thing, and doing something completely different, in a very, very shocking way. I mean, you literally have him address the duplicity that he knows is going on with this, and talks about it, and laughs about it at different points...I think this shatters trust and relationships at the most basic levels in the Texas House...I think this is going to upend Texas politics.
Stickland also told Hasty that Speaker Bonnen offered press credentials to Empower Texans and offered to revoke the credentials of Scott Braddock and Quorum Report. Stickland says the offer was made in the audio he heard.
