State Representative John Frullo Tells KFYO News He Won’t Run for Congress in 2016 [VIDEO]
A few hours after Congressman Randy Neugebauer announced he would not run for re-election in 2016, KFYO's Rob Snyder caught up with the longest tenured state office holder from Lubbock: State Rep. John Frullo.
Asked if he would consider running for Congress Frullo said, "No, I wouldn't. The reason being, as a chairman in the Texas House (Insurance Committee) I can do so much more for Lubbock and West Texas than I could do as a freshman in Congress."
Frullo also said, "I want to thank Randy and Dana on all of the work and the things they have done for West Texas (during) the time they have been in office. It has been an honor to serve with Randy."
When asked if there was someone he would like to see run for Congress, Frullo didn't name anyone specifically. "I would rather look to see who steps up to run for Congress," he said. "I think there will be a large field running, just like when Congressman Combest retired (in 2003)."
