Coming up later today (August 22), State Representative Dustin Burrows (R- Lubbock) will end his self-imposed media blackout to discuss his political future. Rep. Burrows will appear on The Chad Hasty Show at 9:05am.

Burrows has recently been embroiled in controversy surrounding Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen and Michael Quinn Sullivan of Empower Texans, and a June meeting that involved the trio.

As a result of the surrounding controversy, last week, Burrows resigned from his position as chairman of the Texas House Republican Caucus.

On Wednesday evening, Burrows hinted at what he will discuss with Chad Hasty, by making a Facebook post noting his 2020 re-election campaign for Texas House District 83.

Earlier this month, David Speer announced he would run in the Republican Primary in 2020 for HD 83. So far, Speer and Burrows are the only two candidates who have announced they are running in next year's Republican Primary for HD 83.

The candidate filing period for the 2020 Primary Elections in Texas is November 9- December 9, 2019.
