Here are just a few of the things we are working on for Tuesday's edition of Lubbock's First News.

1. Special Session kicks off on Tuesday

Lawmakers begin the Special Session down in Austin today. I'm not sure if anyone is really surprised by this or not. In all honesty, they shouldn't be. There was a lot for lawmakers to consider and the Senate waited until the last minute to even consider a budget or redistricting. Here is a look at some of the things lawmakers might consider from the Texas Tribune.

2. Pediatricians say energy drinks might not be good for kids. (link)

Yup, another thing that is no longer good for us. Now Pediatricians are saying that energy and sports drinks aren't good for kids. Instead they recommend plain water. Funny, that after years of marketing sports drinks to kids, now they aren't safe. And... who didn't know that plain water was better anyway?

3. Social Justice for African Americans (link)

The U.N. is putting together a summit that seeks 'Social Justice' for those of African American decent. Yeah... we will get into this.

These topics and many more are coming up on Tuesday's edition of Lubbock's First News with Chad Hasty. Tune in 6-9am on News/Talk 790 KFYO. Leave us your comments below.
