Universities across the nation always try to bring in speakers that will challenge not only students but also the community the university is located in. These speakers have been Presidents, Supreme Court Justices, Nobel prize winners, etc.

On Thursday, Rutgers University broke a bit from that tradition and paid $32,000 to Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi of the reality TV show "Jersey Shore". According to NBC New York:

...$32,000 Thursday to dish on her hairstyle, fist pumps, as well as the GTL -- gym, tanning, laundry -— lifestyle.

Apparently the money came out of the student fee area of the budget. Money well spent I guess. While Snooki was paid $32,000, Nobel-winning novelist Toni Morrison, who will give the commencement address will only be paid $30,000.

So what advice did Snooki have for the students at Rutgers?

"Study hard, but party harder."

Texas Tech should pay me $32K and I'll give the same advice. I blame MTV for this.
