Shooting Suspect Evades Lubbock Police After Officer Wrecks Vehicle

An early-morning vehicle pursuit resulted in an injured Lubbock police officer.
On Tuesday, March 8th, the Lubbock Police Department were called to the Ella Apartments, located in the 1100 block of 58th Street, for reports of a shooting at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers learned the victim had been taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
At some point, a vehicle pursuit began with an officer and the alleged suspect. The chase ended at about 5:45 a.m. when the officer wrecked his vehicle near 66th Street and Avenue S. The officer was taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.
The suspect was able to flee the scene and authorities are looking for them.
