Shooting In Lubbock Leaves 8-Year-Old Girl Injured

An overnight shooting in the 2400 block of 23rd Street led to an eight-year-old girl getting shot. Lubbock Police were called out to the scene at 3:33 a.m. for reports of shots fired. Officers were then called out to the 2200 block of Broadway Avenue for another report of shots fired.
According to a press release from the Lubbock Police Department, officers determined that the shots were fired at the second location.
Upon arrival, officers located an eight-year-old female who was shot. She was transported to University Medical Center via ambulance with moderate injuries.
Investigators with the Lubbock Police Department's Major Crimes Unit are continuing to investigate the early morning shooting.
At this time, no suspects have been named.
