Shooter Won’t Seek 3rd Term As Lubbock Co. Republican Chair
Chairman of the Lubbock County Republican Party, Cole Shooter, announced on Wednesday that he would not be seeking a third term. Shooter was first elected as Chairman in 2020.
In a press release, Shooter pointed to the tradition of LCRP chairman of the past and past statements as to his reasoning behind not seeking another term.
“When I announced my intention to run for the position of Lubbock County Republican Party chairman back in 2019, I said I would only serve for two terms as is the general tradition for LCRP chairmen. Now that I am wrapping up my second term in office, my goal is to help ensure a smooth transition and give my successor the training and advice necessary to succeed in this role.”
Shooter has been involved with the Lubbock County Republican Party since 2004 and is the managing attorney for the Lubbock office of Shooter & Agee Law Group. Shooter can also be heard on KFYO as host of "Shooter on the Law" which airs Saturday's at 10am. He is also heard as a fill-in host on KFYO.
Shooter called the experience of serving as Chairman as both challenging and rewarding.
“It has been both a challenging and often-rewarding experience serving in this role, and I have far too many people to thank for their support than I can name here.”
In the press release Shooter reminded people that filing to be on the ballot for the Tuesday, March 5th 2024 Primary begins this Saturday, November 11th.
