On Tuesday's P.M. edition of the on The Chad Hasty Show, District 1 Senator Bryan Hughes (R-Tyler) joined the broadcast to share an update on several bills in front of the 87th Texas Legislature, including legislation on election integrity, the pro-life fetal "heartbeat" bill, the Texas power grid, big-tech censorship reform, and Constitutional Carry.
Hughes described the compressed timeline underway with the end of the session growing near, and the positive developments taking place. "We're finding out which bills are going to make it and which bills aren't, but as conservatives we're very excited about the way things look right now," said Hughes.
While speaking about Constitutional Carry, the amendments that have been added to gain the support of law enforcement, and the chances of the bill passing though the legislative process and being signed into law, Hughes said,
I think we're going to get it done...I think we're going to get the details worked out, and it's going to be a strong bill that Republicans will support, I'm very optimistic.
