On Friday's Chad Hasty Show Texas Senator Charles Perry joined Chad in the KFYO studio to talk about the proposed ordinance, sent to the Lubbock City Council by himself and State Representatives Dustin Burrows and John Frullo, which would make the city of Lubbock a sanctuary city for the unborn.

Perry said, while describing the importance of the ordinance and his drive to see it acted upon by the city,

This is one of those things that I believe my faith in God put me in position to be effective. So I'm always looking for an opportunity to protect the unborn...It has taken on a life of it's own, it's a God thing. The timing on this, and the things that need to be done and the momentum it's gained is unbelievable...We have an obligation, as a government, to protect all life, including the unborn, and the courts have ruled accordingly.

Perry talked about the possible opposition and legal challenges that would be expected, the legal defense that would be provided the city at no cost, and why it is so important to enact the ordinance and eventually overturn Roe v Wade. Perry said, "This is an opportunity to push back on, in my opinion, the most transformational case that ever has been had in this country."

Summing up his determination to pursue this important moral issue, Perry said,

I'm committed to seeing this through...Our city council says one thing, I hope their actions back it up.
