School supplies from a local giving campaign will be distributed to needy children beginning tomorrow.

The South Plains Food Bank will begin giving out basic school supplies donated through the 21st Annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive campaign at 9 a.m. Friday.

Lubbock County families that need assistance with basic school supplies are encouraged to contact their child’s school for a school supply voucher.

Supply distribution will continue Monday through Friday of next week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the South Plains Food Bank, located at 4612 Locust Avenue.

More than 4,000 school supply bags have been made with this year’s Stuff the Bus donations.

SPFB Executive Director David Weaver said “We realize the importance of students having basic supplies to be successful in their school year and wanted to assist struggling families in providing some of those needed items.”
