A local relief organization is welcoming new leadership of its service ministry.

The Salvation Army of Lubbock is welcoming in new Corps Officers to the Lubbock Chapter to replace Majors Mike and Nettie Morton.

Majors Tim and Cheryl Grider, previously leaders of the the Salvation Army of Amarillo will be joining the Lubbock group to focus on Christian outreach and increasing sales at the Salvation Army thrift store.

“We are looking forward to the opportunity to work for the betterment of the Lubbock community,” said Major Tim Grider, Corps Officer for The Salvation of Lubbock. “We believe God has placed us here to help The Salvation Army fulfill the needs of this community.”

The Grider’s are replacing the Morton's who were moved to El Paso in June of 2012 after serving The Salvation Army of Lubbock  for three years.
