
Tom Sell and Abraham Enriquez Advance to a Runoff in the District 19 Republican Primary
From the moment early voting numbers were released on Tuesday in the race for District 19, it was clear that the race was heading to a runoff, but it took a while to find out who would face Tom Sell in late May.
A Battle For Second Place In TX-19
Throughout the night Matt Smith held the lead over Abraham Enriquez but as the night progressed that lead for Smith would shrink and only a few times would Smith see a slight increase in his lead. After midnight though as some of the final votes came in, Abraham Enriquez was able to move into second place and secure a spot in the runoff.

Tom Sell would finish the night with 40.42% of the vote. Meanwhile Abraham Enriquez would finish with 18.76% and Matt Smith 18.51%. A difference of 193 votes.
Runoff In The Republican Primary
An all Lubbock runoff. Tom Sell and Abraham Enriquez will battle for the Republican nomination for District 19. Election Day is May 26 and on the ballot will be other high profile runoff elections. That includes the race for US Senate and Texas Attorney General in the on the Republican ballot.
Early voting will begin May 18 and end on May 22. The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is May 15.
