Rumor Has It Gong Cha Bubble Tea is Making Its Way to Lubbock
According to Lubbock In the Loop, a new bubble tea shop is coming to Lubbock, and I haven't been this excited about a new business coming here in a long time.
There are two things that will get you to my heart the fastest: letting me pet your dog or cat and inviting me to go get bubble tea. Something about the milk tea with the chewy tapioca pearls is just so delicious.
If you are also a fan of bubble tea, then I'm sure you will be just as excited as I am to know that Gong Cha, is coming to Lubbock.
If you aren't familiar with Gong Cha, it is a well-known franchise along the east coast and some parts of Texas. They are known for their milk foam that is similar to a ‘soft top’ at Dutch Bros, or ‘cold foam’ and Starbucks. They apparently also have a great brown sugar milk tea which is currently very popular among those that enjoy milk tea.
If you aren't a fan of boba (the chewy tapioca pearls), do not fret. They have plenty of other options for those wanting a different type of drink. They have a variety of flavored teas, slushes, and coffee drinks that you can get with or without boba. If you are into sweeter things, then you can get your drink with popping boba or jelly in a variety of sweet and fruity flavors.
Something I appreciate about a lot of bubble tea shops is that you can really customize your drink. Not only can you pick the drink and boba flavors, but you can adjust the amount of ice and sweetness to your liking.
There isn't a confirmed opening date for this new Lubbock location, but I hope it will be here soon. If it does open it will supposedly be at 405 Slide Rd. I stopped by there today and saw that there is an open restaurant space available in that shopping center, so I'm assuming that is where they would plan to go.
I have a local shop that I already love going to, but I'd love to give a well-known name like Gong Cha a shot. Hopefully, they will be making their way here soon.
