One of the big attractions to Ruidoso of course is Ruidoso Downs and horse racing.

The venue is opening 2 weeks earlier than its usual opening date, starting on May 10th and running through September 2nd. On Saturday, May 4th, the venue is having a Derby Party where they will put down money for you on a horse to be donated to the charity of your choice. They will also have a derby hat contest, prizes, and more.
