Executive Editor of the Texas Tribune, Ross Ramsey, joined The Chad Hasty Show on Friday to discuss the on-going allegations between Michael Quinn Sullivan of Empower Texans and Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen, and Rep. Dustin Burrows.

Sullivan still hasn't released the full audio that he recorded secretly during a meeting with Bonnen and Burrows earlier in the Summer. As of Friday, only a small number of people had claimed to have heard the audio. Ramsey told KFYO that "at the very least the House" has to hear the audio in order to get to the bottom of the story.

Ramsey called the current situation a "crisis of trust" occurring in the Texas House and wondering where the Speaker's loyalty lies.

Ramsey also said members of the Texas House and Republicans specifically, aren't hearing from the Speaker or Rep. Dustin Burrows and that the silence isn't good and sows doubt among members of the House.

Ramsey also discussed the impact of Republican Congressman Will Hurd announcing his retirement on Thursday.
