A case of road rage ended up with an exchange of gunfire on the Marsha Sharp Freeway in Lubbock.

KAMC News reports the incident happened a bit after 12 p.m. on Sunday, November 13th. 2 men were driving east on the Marsha Sharp Freeway from Slide Road when they say the suspect cut them off.

The driver tried to get behind the suspect's vehicle and take a picture of their license plate, but the suspect driver pointed an AR-15 out their window and fired 2 shots at the victims. The victim told police that he responded by pulling out his own firearm and returning fire.

At the scene, officers located multiple shell casings and 8 bullet holes in the windshield of the victim's vehicle. A description of the suspect's vehicle has yet to be provided and they have not yet been located.

Both victims denied Emergency Medical Services. An investigation is ongoing.
