Lubbock Police Chief Greg Stevens appeared in a press conference Monday afternoon to discuss his plans on keeping the city safe following Saturday night's riots.

Stevens said that starting at 6 p.m. Monday afternoon, Broadway Street from University Avenue to Avenue U will be closed. This area will be closed to vehicular traffic.

Stevens also said that starting at 8:30 p.m., University Avenue from Glenna Goodacre Boulevard all the way south to 15th Street will be closed to vehicular traffic.

Police will be doing their best to to not interfere with businesses and their customers during the road closures.
