On Tuesday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Republican senate nominee Ted Cruz talked with Chad Hasty and Rex Andrew about his upcoming speech at the Republican National Convention.

Cruz said that it was a "tremendous honor" being asked to speak at the convention in Tampa, Florida. He believes that this election in particular is one of the most important elections we've ever had, and that the choice the American people will make in November carries huge consequences, not just for the people, but for the future of the country. Cruz said he hopes his speech will clearly highlight just how important this choice is.

...it's a choice between continuing down the road of the Obama democrats, of more and more spending, more and more debt, and more and more government control of the economy and our lives, or getting back to the founding principles of our nation, of limited government, of
free markets, and individual liberty.

Ted Cruz is scheduled to speak at the convention tonight between 8 PM and 9 PM central time.
