On Wednesday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show District 92 Representative Jonathan Stickland joined the broadcast to talk about the reasons for his recent announcement that he will not be seeking reelection to the Texas House.

Stickland answered Hasty's questions and discussed the state of the legislature and conservatism in Texas.

Summing up one area from which his frustrations stem, Stickland said,

We had a chance to differentiate ourselves and offer what the Republican Party used to stand for, which is more freedom and less government. And I think we grew government in a lot of ways. In talking to grass roots people, they are questioning, what's the difference? Because we've given the Republicans control of the legislature for a very long time now, and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
