If you’ve ever considered running for public office, the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce is offering Hub City residents an opportunity to learn more about the nuts and bolts of political campaigns.

The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce will over a one day class on Thursday, January 23 for citizens who are interested in running for public office.

The Chamber is calling the four hour seminar a “Public Service, Campaigns and Candidacy School” and will get underway at 1pm at the Texas Tech Club.

A wide range of topics will be discussed, and former officer holders and political professionals will present on basic campaign strategies, procedures for placement on ballots and complying with campaign finance laws.

The seminar will also cover media relations and building an effective campaign staff structure.

The cost of the seminar is $35, and you can register online with the Chamber, or call their offices at 761-7008.
