One of the big fights in Washington right now is over the payroll tax holiday that has been in effect. If Congress does nothing, taxes will go back up. Democrats have wanted to extend the payroll tax holiday by taxing the rich. Republicans say no, and then they are divided on whether they should extend the holiday or not. Monday morning on Lubbock's First News, Congressman Randy Neugebauer said he was in support of letting the payroll tax holiday expire. The trouble in that is that Democrats would campaign on Republican's raising taxes.

Democrats are preparing to bring a comprise plan to the table, but don't look for it to pass easily. This fight is going to be tricky. Taxes, Social Security, and the economy could all be effected by the vote. It's going to be a fight.

What do you think lawmakers should do? Should the Payroll Tax Holiday be extended another year?
