An early morning vehicle crash in North Lubbock County has left one person deceased. The Texas Department of Public Safety was dispatched on Wednesday, November 29, to the area of I-27 near County Road 5400 after a crash occurred earlier that morning. At the scene first responders discovered that someone had been struck by an 18-wheeler in the northbound lanes. That body was later identified 32-year-old Jermaine Nord of Clovis, New Mexico who was involved in a crash prior to being struck.

KAMC news reports that investigators were able to determine that Nord was on foot from the center median because of the initial crash just before 3 a.m.. During that time is when Nord was struck by an 18-wheeler driven 38-year-old Brandon Brown of Tulia. First responders at the scene of the crash did declare Nord deceased at the scene.

As per the publishing of this article, there is no word on what caused the initial crash involving Nord. No arrests have been made, as to our knowledge, this investigation is ongoing.
