For those who want Newt Gingrich to drop out after Tuesday, I've got bad news. Newt Gingrich has told the AP, that he isn't going anywhere. According to the Washington Post:

Spurning calls for him to get out, Newt Gingrich insisted Friday that he’ll stay in the race for the Republican presidential nomination even if he loses two Southern primaries next week.

“I think there’s a fair chance we’ll win,” the former House speaker told The Associated Press about the contests Tuesday in Alabama and Mississippi. “But I just want to set this to rest once and for all. We’re going to Tampa.”

This of course is good news for Mitt Romney. Romney doesn't play well in the South, but he does just good enough to either win or come in second when Gingrich and Santorum split the conservative vote. The Santorum campaign I'm sure is not happy with this news. Of course, is Newt can win the next two primaries then he might be calling on Santorum to drop out.

At the end of the day it will be money that decides who drops out. Donations for Gingrich or Santorum might begin to drop out if Romney starts to win even more delegates. Until then, having both Gingrich and Santorum in the race only splits the conservative base and pushed Mitt Romney to the top.
