I noticed something on my way home the other day, a 'Your Speed' sign with a display showing my speed.

Having seen these in other cities, I would have thought this would be on a major street where speeding is always an issue. Not in this case.

There is one sign in each direction on Boston and 43rd Street.

I have lived in that area for almost 8 years and have never considered speeding to be an issue along Boston. Now 34th Street, 50th, University, Indiana, they could benefit from these signs more than a side street in a residential neighborhood.

I reached out to Lubbock Traffic Engineering to ask them about these signs, but no one has returned my call.

I don't think these signs serve a purpose in the middle of a residential area, they should really be on major roads where speeding is a real problem, but that is up to the city at the end of the day.

What do you think of these signs? Let us know in the comments!
