Thursday on Lubbock's First News, Tonja Hagy with the First Friday Art Trail described the new mobile application that can be used to navigate the Art Trail. Also, Lem Arroyo with the Legacy Event Center gave the details on the exhibit to feature the 19th annual Komen Race for the Cure.

The new mobile application is accessible by Apple or Android products. The name of the app. is First Friday Art Trail. It lists all artists featured during the art trail that month. It also includes an interactive interface by which Instagram photographs can be posted to the main app. by using the hashtag #firstfridayarttrail. Hagy said, "we have an interface with Instagram, so users... upload their pictures from First Friday Art Trail [that] will become part of the app." In addition, the app. offers an interactive map of the art trail area, including all venues listed.This can be downloaded to your phone to keep up to date with what is going on each month.

This Friday, the Legacy Event Center will feature photography by Pamra Culp, as well as paintings by breast cancer survivors JoBeth Gilliam and Theresa Martin. The event will focus on the 19th annual Komen Race for the Cure survivorship.The Legacy Event Center will be working with the Breast Cervical Health Initiative to provide services to women with breast and or cervical cancer. The exhibit will be open from 6 pm to 9 pm. The Legacy Event Center is located at 1500 14th street.
