Lubbock Police: 2nd Level Nightclub Victim Shot & Killed 1st Victim
The Lubbock Police Department has provided an update on two homicides that happened at Lubbock's Level Nightclub at 1:52 a.m. on New Year's Day.
Investigators say that 24-year-old Dedrick Traylor had an altercation in the club with 17-year-old Garyontae Shephard, who then pulled out a firearm, shot Traylor, and fled the scene. During his escape, Shephard was shot by someone else outside the club, police say.
Investigators say that the two shootings aren't connected and are being investigated as separate incidents. Information about the second suspect has not been released by authorities.
