Monday on Lubbock's First News, Tom and Laura kicked off a round of Meet the Candidates for the Lubbock City Council. They spoke with Deanne Clark, candidate for the District 3 seat on the Council. She is running against Jeff Griffith and Maurice Stanley.

She said the driving force behind her decision to run for the seat is the city's debt. She believes the election is a good way to get people back on the Council that will work to get things paid off, instead of adding another $103 million to the current debt. She hopes to encourage the public to voice their opinions and place their votes for change in the city. She said, "I don't know where we lost that philosophy that we need to pay things..."
